Bared, Shattered, Mosaicked

long ago

I lost track

how often

I spoke my truth

cringing

as I watched

you shrink from me

slink away

cowardly tail

between

swaggering legs

reducing

my bared soul

to scattered shards

smithereened

against the ice cold

hardness

of your heart

sobbing

I swept

glistening fragments

purples, reds and turquoises

of my vibrant self

strewn reckless

in the dust

fuming spit and vinegar

I glued them

those glittering

bits of me

haphazard

precious

psychic gems

I know now

your stalking retreat

mirrors not

my truest colors

mosaic of time warped

space and remnants

your hasty abandon

reflects

images

avoided

along your own

hard beaten path
