A Little Girl’s Eyes – John W. Leys

The letter came yesterday
To tell me the tragic news
You tried to string yourself up
’cause you think you’ve been abused.

And I saw her eyes, the little girl’s eyes

Your life’s rotting away
In that ten foot cell
Your perfect little life
Turned into a living Hell

But I see her eyes, that little girl’s eyes

I see those perfect eyes
That you reduced to tears
You stole away her innocence
Haunting the rest of her years

I saw her eyes, that little girl’s eyes

They’re all out to get you
None of it seems quite fair
You say you’re the real victim,
How can you even dare?

Cos I saw her eyes, that little girl’s eyes

What you did is an unforgivable sin
You’re right where you belong.
You say it’ll be the death of you
I just hope it doesn’t take too long

Cos I saw her eyes, that little girl’s eyes
